Meet Dane

Dane Andrew Deutsch is the owner of three businesses (i.e.-Deutsch's Gymnastics, DCS Netlink IT company, and Leadership Management Development Center), military man, family man, Character Counts ambassador, and 2002 Wisconsin Republican of the year. Age 57, Dane is a candidate for state senate where he will bring the same integrity, honesty, and dependability that he has brought to his business and private life.

Emphasis on character has been such an important part of Dane’s philosophy of life that he became a national trainer and an ambassador for Character Counts, an educational program.More information can be obtained from: 


Dane has facilitated the implementation of Character Counts curriculum into the Rice Lake School District. Dane and Katharine Joy, his wife of thirty-six years and Director of Deutsch's Gymnastics, have made Character Counts curriculum an integral part of the training offered gymnasts at Deutsch’s Gymnastics. While gymnastics and physical education training are the focus of the program, the instruction provided for the last 23 years has included developing life skills.

His ability to organize productive, creative teams was also evident during Dane’s Military career. Shortly after entering the United States Air Force in 1982, he was chosen to serve as the Assistant Chief of Maintenance for a Tactical Control Squadron providing all communication and electronics supports for research and war-gaming at Eglin AFB in Florida. Dane was soon sent to Turkey where he spent 5 years and served tours of duty at three different locations.  During his first tour of duty, he served as the Assistant Chief of Maintenance for the entire country.


His second tour of duty, he was chosen to be the Commander of a remote communications site called Yamanlar, Because of his outstanding performance as Commander, he was handpicked by the Vice-Commander of the Defense Communications Agency (DCA) in Washington D.C. to be the Chief of Maintenance for a majority of the communications throughout Turkey. The DCA Vice-Commander had served under President Ronald Reagan as the Director of the White House Communications Agency, has retired from the Vice Presidency of the Intelligence and the Satellite Divisions for General Dynamics, and today serves on the DCS Netlink Board of Advisers.

Dane is the CEO and President of DCS Netlink which provides a full line of internet services including web design that is supported by the finest secure servers and routers. Dane and his father, Cecil, built the company which evolved from offering expertise in repair and installation of networks and internet services to becoming a complete Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP). Microsoft certified employees and a strong sense of team work have made DCS Netlink one of the finest providers of technology services in the United States. In 2002 Dane was named Wisconsin Businessman of the Year.  The DCS Netlink team won the Wisconsin Barron County Small Business Model of the Year award in 2002 and the Synergy Collaboration Award for technology work done in conjunction with the City of Altoona, WI in 2007.


Always preparing for greater challenges, Dane completed undergraduate work in Pre-Medicine while obtaining his commission as an officer in the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Wisconsin at Superior. He had the privilege of climbing Mt. Ararat (17,000 ft) while stationed in Turkey.  In 2012, Dane earned his Masters Degree in Information Communications Technology from the University of Wisconsin at Stout.
